Antique Bonanza Toys

Bonanza was a much loved western television series that aired on NBC for 14 seasons from 1959 to 1973. Written and produced by David Dotort, Bonanza ran for 430 episodes on NBC and was sponsored by Chevrolet. In the mid 1960's, when the show was moved to a 9pm Sunday night time slot, the popularity of the series soared to new heights.

The show centered around the Cartwright family that owned a large ranch called The Ponderosa on Lake Tahoe in Nevada. The series featured some well known and loved characters like Ben Cartwright, played by Lorne Greene as well as three sons, Adam Cartwright played by Pernell Roberts, Eric Cartwright, better known as Hoss Cartwright and Little Joe Cartwright played by a young Michael Landon. After the who had been canceled, three movies were filmed in the 1980's and 1990's called Bonanza: The Next Generation, Bonanza: The Return and finally Bonanza: Under Attack.

Throughout its history, Bonanza merchandise has always been in demand. From lunch boxes to View Master sets, every child wanted a piece of Bonanza to play with at home. Bonanza action figures, featuring Hoss Cartwright, Little Joe and also range horses from the Bonanza series are popular, along with cap guns, which are also among the hottest vintage Bonanza toys.
